Radiodetection recently launched a new Early Careers initiative aimed at providing local school children with exposure to careers discussions and sparking their interest in industries connected to our business. As part of this programme, we are partnering with Oasis Academy John Williams, a secondary school located near our Bristol Headquarters.

Our visit to Oasis Academy John Williams began with an engaging introduction to Radiodetection. We shared insights into who we are and the vital work we do, captivating the students with content illustrating the critical importance of using our industry-leading cable avoidance tools to help prevent accidents.

The morning continued with a hands-on session led by our technical support team. They took the students to the playground for practical demonstrations on how to use our products. The children eagerly embraced the role of surveyors, meticulously locating and marking underground utilities with chalk, even understanding depth measurements.

After successfully mapping their playground, the students returned to the classroom for a discussion about the various departments at Radiodetection. Representatives from our engineering team provided a fascinating glimpse into a day in the life of a Radiodetection engineer, sharing their personal journey into the field. A member of our marketing department then offered insights into the dynamic world of marketing at Radiodetection and how their career path led them to us. The students showed keen interest in both presentations, asking thoughtful questions and demonstrating a genuine curiosity about potential career paths.

Radiodetection extends a sincere thank you to Oasis Academy John Williams for generously hosting us and allowing us to share our world with their students, and we look forward to future engagements with them as we build our Early Careers programme. We also express our immense gratitude to all the Radiodetection departments and individuals who contributed to making this visit a resounding success. We hope the students enjoyed their goodie bags and, more importantly, gained valuable insights and inspiration for their futures.
